Dr. Menche is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at New York University Medical Center. He is a Fellow of The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He is a founding member of the Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Society. He initiated the technique of chondrocyte transplantation using a periosteal cover for the treatment of articular cartilage defects. His main clinical interests are in the non-operative and operative treatment of knee disorders. Dr. Menche was the Chief Orthopaedic Surgeon for the U.S. Open Tennis Championships and has served in that capacity since 1992 - 2003. He is also the Team Physician for QUeens COllege and a consultant to numerous other schools. Formerly, he was the Associate Director of Sports Medicine and Medical Director of Physical and Occupational Therapy at the Hospital for Joint Diseases. These positions were held for 10 and 6 years respectively. He is presently the Medical Director the Cartilage Restoration Associates of New York and Metro SportsMed , a comprehensive medical, physical therapy and fitness center. |
